Get ready to shop the fresh New York State foods and produce offered during the Westchester County Center Farmers Market on Sunday, February 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in White Plains.
More than 30 farmers and food producers will offer fresh winter produce such as vegetables, greens and potatoes, a variety of farmstead-produced cheeses, pasture-raised meats and poultry, and fresh baked goods, breads and desserts. You can even pick up some local wines and ciders.
As you shop, you can enjoy some homegrown music, courtesy of Pleasantville’s own Chris Burke. A multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Burke has been teaching and playing music professionally in the tri-state area for 10 years. His band, The Track, hosts a rock jam every Thursday night at Lucy's Lounge in Pleasantville. A graduate of Pleasantville High School, he has been the musical director for the Lighthouse Youth Arts Center in Thornwood, NY, for the last four years.
The final Farmers Market of the season will take place on Mar. 14. (Please note: March date is changed from March 28.)
Admission is free. Parking at the County Center lot is $4. A discount parking coupon is available at www.countycenter.biz.
The Farmers Market is sponsored by Westchester County Parks, radio station 107.1 The Peak and Friends of Westchester County Parks, Inc.
The Westchester County Center is located at 198 Central Park Avenue in White Plains, at the junction of the Bronx River Parkway and Tarrytown Road (Route 119).
